Quick reference:
Settings -> Integrations -> OpenIMS connection
Introduction
We have an integration with OpenIMS, an external knowledge base. Configuring this connection will allow you to search for documents in OpenIMS via the Global search functionality in the workspace.
Note that there is no live tile for OpenIMS.
Unfortunately, the OpenIMS API is not as extensive as we have for SharePoint for example. Therefore options we offer may be limited. Do you miss a functionality within OpenIMS? Please submit a Feature request.
Prerequisites
If you want to make use of this integration, it must be requested at OpenIMS (Open Sesame ICT). They will provide you with a URL and API key. You need this to set up the Workspace OpenIMS connection.
Unify module.
Opening files
The OpenIMS tab under Global search will shown a maximum of 10 results, but you can click on "Show more results for OpenIMS" to view more.
OpenIMS does not have their own Office editors and we follow their procedure for opening files. Which means that, when you click on a Word document for example, that document will always be downloaded and cannot be opened online. PDF files on the other hand, can be opened via the browser.
If you click on the location link from the Global search, you will be redirected to OpenIMS and will be prompted to fill in your credentials for OpenIMS.
Configuration
To set up the connection with OpenIMS, follow the steps below.
Go to the Workspace admin settings page.
Select Integrations.
Select OpenIMS connection.
Click New.
Give your connection a name.
Fill in the API URL, received from OpenIMS.
Fill in the requested API key, received from OpenIMS.
Click Add.
All users within the Workspace environment can now access OpenIMS documents from the Global search.
