Table of Contents

Introduction

You can create a Spotify live tile which can show a playlist, a track or a profile. In this example, we will show you how to create a playlist live tile.

Configuration

Getting the code

First, go to the Spotify web player and find the playlist you want to show.
https://open.spotify.com/
Here, we need the URL from that playlist:

After this, we will need to create the embedded code.

<iframe src='https://embed.spotify.com/?uri=spotify:playlist:37i9dQZF1DX4UtSsGT1Sbe' frameborder='0' allowtransparency='true'></iframe>

Note: you can alter this code, if you want it to display a track, all you need to do is change this part from the code:

playlist:37i9dQZF1DX4UtSsGT1Sbe

Change "playlist" to "track" and "37i9dQZF1DX4UtSsGT1Sbe" to the digits and numbers series that the browser will show for that specific track.

Adding the app

Now that we have the code, go to your Workspace 365. Go to the App store (or click on "+ Add tiles"). Make sure Manage apps is selected.

Click on Add new app, search for Web content and click on Add

At this new page, you can choose a lot of options for the application. There are two required fields:

  • App name: give the application a name you want it to have.
  • Embed code: place the code for the content here.

When you provided the required information, it should look something like this:

When done, click Save. You can now add the app from the App store (or via '+ Add tiles'), either to a new or existing group.

When added to Workspace, you can right-click the tile to edit it to your liking.
