Introduction

Our Calendar app helps users to plan and manage appointments, meetings, and tasks. It makes it easier to stay organized and keep track of important dates and activities. This app is also integrated with our email, address book, tasks app and Activity Feed.

Here's an example of the Calendar app.

Requirements & Limitations

  • The Calendar app looks at the Primary email address, not the UPN.

  • To see calendars from other users, the other user needs to manually set the permissions on their calendar.

  • Shared Calendars must be added via OWA to show in the workspace.

  • We only support Exchange calendars.

  • We don't support MS booking appointments.

  • To see the places within an appointment make sure to add the (delegate) API "Place.Read.All"

Access Calendar app

If the Calendar app is enabled (App store -> "Manage apps") and when users have permissions to the Calendar app, it will be visible in the navigation menu on the left-hand side in your digital workplace.

The Calendar app will be displayed in the navigation menu if it's enabled and when you have permissions to the app.

How to add shared calendars

In order for users to see shared calendars in the Calendar app, it first needs to be added in OWA after they've been granted permissions. You can follow the instructions below to configure this:

  1. Give an admin delegate permissions (Full access) on the mailbox for the calendar you want to share.

  2. Log in to the Outlook Web App (OWA) with that admin and go to the calendars.

  3. Click "Share" in the toolbar (see picture below). It may take a few minutes before you can see the calendar to which you have just been granted rights.

  4. Choose the calendar you want to share.

  5. In this pop-up you can add users. It is not possible to add a group, since the MS Graph API will not detect the calendar if the user isn't directly assigned

After this, users need to individually add the calendar on their own OWA. After that the calendar will also be visible in the workspace.

Default client

In the Calendar app, you have the option to select your default client by editing the app from the App store under 'manage apps'. This enables you to choose whether to open your calendar through the Workspace 365 Calendar app or OWA.

Live tile

You want users to stay organized and to see an immediate overview of their important dates and activities at the start of their work day. This is why you could add the Calendar live tile to the user's Personal space.

By default, each Calendar live tile will display the personal calendar. You can select a different calendar to display from the tile's dropdown. The last selected calendar is stored per tile per user.

The Calendar live tile can be added from the App store or via "+ Add tiles" button. There are two views available. The live version shows more detailed information.

  • Live version: change the tile format to 4 x 4 or higher (recommended)

  • Regular: 2 x 2 or 1 x 1 format.
